Why we never use LiveChat Bots

You will never see a AI Chat Bot on our website.  Why?  Here are a few reasons.

If you ring up a company and you get through to an automated system “in a few words please tell us the reason for your call”, these drive us mad.  What if you are making a call in a busy office?  If it’s noisy?  If you want to just press 1 for this or 2 for that?

If you are able to speak and say “I want to discuss my policy”, you may get a reply of “Are you calling us about your policy?”, “yes”.  Thank you “is this about your current policy or a new policy”…. .and so it goes on.

We have seen Chat Bots where you type in your question and the reply is unrelated, or takes ages.  It feels like the days of a team ready to chat to you, are gone – or least going.  It’s one of our pet hates.

So our view is, stop being annoying.  If you have a team ready to respond, make the chat Live.  If you don’t, make it to leave an email message to reply later.  This is why if you visit our website like you are now, and you see we are “online”, and you write to us, you will only ever hear back from a real person.  Never a Bot.  Never.

If you are ever unsure, just ask something that a Bot might not reply to, or might reply in a Bot Way…  Such as “what is the weather like with you now?”.  If you are in the same town as us, only a real person could answer that truthfully as you would also know the same weather out there.

We want our support services to be real, honest, and open.  In fact we had a company contact us recently about a newly made website, but it was done all wrong.  So many issues, and delicately put, we did explain these to them.  That said, these website design issues were not chatted to on our Livechat, but on the phone and email.

We’ve had clients contact us with issues on their WordPress Website, and again, being real we know the system so can answer properly, rather than “so you are asking us about how to Edit a Font, is that correct?”…… which is usually a Bot reply.
