In the last few days, Woocommerce has upgraded his Woocommerce shopping plugin platform. The latest version is 3.3.

The updates on some WordPress themes has caused categories to appear on Shop and Category pages, above products. It includes the Uncategorized category too. This is obviously a cause for concern.

It certainly caused us some headaches. But there is a fix. Firstly the developers of a theme need to be informed, as it likely a conflict between the version of some WC 3.3 files, and the versions on the theme.
The way we resolved it was to replace the Woocommerce version with an older (previous) version. This fixed the issue for us.
We also advise disabling plugin updates automatically, so they can be tested before going live. This can however only be done if your site has a ‘staging area’.
