Bespoke website, bespoke packages to suit you

How much is a website?  For very clear and understandable reasons, we are regularly asked this question.  Our websites are all bespoke, so the costs are based on what you require from a website – a bespoke website.

You might want a website setup with just 5-10 pages, but you don’t want to manage it.  You want to send us menus, or documents and photos to add to the website on a regular basis.  You might want us to look after your Facebook and/or Twitter, responding to customers for you.  Posting updates and news for you.

Bespoke packages for a bespoke website

We can do all this – 79DESIGN can create a bespoke support package that includes hosting, social media management, and website support, all fully custom to your needs.

There is no fixed cost.  We look at your requirements and create your package.

How we make big tasks very easy 800 392 Editor

How we make big tasks very easy

We wanted to tell you about a job we performed today (25/9/15), that made a normally lengthy task for a client’s administration area much quicker: it would have taken them perhaps 2-3 days – took them instead just an hour after our work.

making the impossible big tasks very easy

We were asked if we could do something, and they were not even sure if it was possible.  They use to go to a listing of all products on the web site.  Click Edit.  Scroll down the page to the stock code.  Change the stock code.  Click update.  Then click the link to go back to the main Listing of all products…over and over.

There are several hundred of these to do across various categories.  It was partly to remove characters to enable a new “stock notification” system to work effectively.

We were asked if this could be edited from the Listing page.  We immediately thought of a method called Ajax, which enables you to click a button and it updates an element of the page, without the page “turning over”; just a simply confirmation popup.

The result of which, meant they could change the entry, hit Go.  Change the next one, hit Go… and so on.  We rang them to say it is now complete, and while on the phone for just 10 minutes, they had processed a whole category of products.  To quote Mark at the company, “this is just awesome, it was going to take me all weekend, and I’ve just done a category in 10 minutes.  It’s cheered me right up!”.

We thrive on jobs like this.  Absolutely love it.  This kind of task could only really have been done so quickly for them because it is a “custom web site“, and as such we have full control of how it operates.

Their gain; 79DESIGN’s pleasure.

Don’t hold back – keep improving web sites 1024 383 Editor

Don’t hold back – keep improving web sites

We have had a busy week – while one minute we are working on updating sites for Air Guns and other such items, we keep improving web sites with new tools and administration areas for shooting ranges and clubs.

For one of our clients, they had a web site that was all made with WordPress, but an decision to improve it came alone, and we redeveloped it into a custom web site allowing them to add new games, new features, nice banners and videos.

And now their homepage shows when they have new events happening, with a members area, club area, and tools to create a logo for each event; such as “Halloween Night”.

We have also used a tool we build for one of our big sites, to use on an Air Gun site so they can create Bundles of products.

If you are a collection of sets of products, and you want a better deal, buying lots of different items in one go can be costly.  But they use ‘Bundles’.  So they can compile set products, and if one goes out of stock, the whole bundle is out of stock.

It’s really clever!  It’s worked brilliantly on their other sites, and in mid-September they will be able to use it again.

Keep improving web sites with custom tools

This is where Custom sites can be better than WordPress sites, because we have full control over the whole platform.

Customized Menu Order System rolled out to Clients 150 150 Editor

Customized Menu Order System rolled out to Clients

This week we have had some advancements made in our web sites, including, following an unusual request from a client, the ability for them to change the ordering of categories in their dropdown menus; customized menu order system.  These are full width menus that have blocks of categories going left to right.  We developed a tool for the clients to assign which order each category would appear in, based in priority, speed of sale, and so on.  Customized system written specifically for the web sites.

The result has been an overwhelmingly positive review back to 79DESIGN on the performance, and customer reviews upon seeing these changes.

It’s also meant a radical change in some larger web sites, to make it work.  All done within the space of a week!  This is because we really do know what we are doing, the code we are developing is “our code”, not supplied by others.  And it means we can also tweak it should the client ask “mmm now can it be done so that …”.  The answer is probably a “yes”.

Custom web site

While changing the order of a menu is dead easy in most places, when it’s dynamically generated from a list of product categories, it’s  not so easy.  But we made it happen.
