When did you last Blog about your Company?

Something we rave on about is Blogging, and how important it is.  It gets your keywords out there, it updates your sitemap so Google crawls your site, and increases the size of your website which is also great for SEO.

But if you haven’t blogged in say, six months, Google will not likely crawl your site too often, as it sees very little changes to your website.

The more often you blog, or more often something changes to the structure of your site, the more regularly Google’s (and others) crawlers will scan your site.  It’s a fact of life on the web nowadays.

What makes a good Blog?

Some decent content about your company.  Something informative, and that will grab a reader’s attention.  An image or two that has the appropriate keywords attached to them, correct header titles and so on.  A lot going into a really good blog, specially if it is designed mostly for SEO purposes.

Facebook Posts via your Blog 1024 400 Editor

Facebook Posts via your Blog

Many people like to use Facebook now (yes, that’s a bit of an understatement), but if you have a business website, and you ‘Blog’, you might be missing out on broadcasting it automatically to your Facebook page.

No secret to Blog’s posting to Facebook Timeline

There are no real big secrets to doing this, but when we setup a website for you, and it includes a Blog, or the website is already written using WordPress, we can install a tool that, when a Post goes live, it will go out to your Facebook (and Twitter etc) straight away, along with the main photo you assigned to the Post.  One small bit of disclaimer here though – sometimes it plays games and the photo you add, isn’t always assigned to the Post in the ‘Timeline’!  It’s funny like that.

Facebook – driving traffic to your website

When we write your Posts with your narrative, or train you to write WordPress Posts for your blog, and your site is already connected to Facebook, we will show you how fast it has gone onto your Page’s “Timeline”.  It’s pretty much instant.

Some folks like to add Social Media Posts themselves, which is great.  But a Post from your Blog is far better, as it links back to your Blog or website, increasing traffic flow, and means people may then start to browse your website.

The same goes for Twitter, Google + and Linked In.

So let us show you how you can enable your own WordPress website (or a new one with us) to broadcast your messages from one source, to ALL sources while driving traffic back to your website.

websites uplifted from stagnant
Stagnant websites are bad for SEO 1024 399 Editor

Stagnant websites are bad for SEO

One of the big things we are asked about is “how to I get my new web site higher on Google?”.  It’s obviously the one big thing everyone wants today.  There are countless answers.  The big issue though is stagnant websites – don’t let yours because stagnant.  One good method is with a blog.  Blogs are so important.

What do we mean by “stagnant”?

So you have a new web site.  You have Facebook, Twitter on there.  You even have a Blog on there using WordPress (we provide Blog Management services here).  And you have 5, 10, maybe 15 pages.  Those pages never need to be touched as they are what they are.  Fabulous!

However, if nothing is changing on your website, then Google (there are others of course) doesn’t seen any development, anything new on your site, and therefore others who ARE working on their site will probably rank higher.  And here’s a rather clever thing: the more you update your site with Blog entries and so on, the more regular Google will start to check it with its “crawlers”.

Many of our web sites are crawled so regularly, that one small change can be seen in search result in a matter of 24 hours, to a few days.

A brilliant – absolutely brilliant – way of doing this is with Blogging.  Writing news stories about your company, news, maybe pioneering ideas you have had, things your clients have asked you to do.  A prime example….. is what you are reading right now.  We are telling you this, about stagnant web sites, on our blog.  It’s news, it’s information.

How do I stop ours becoming stagnant websites, with your help?

Easy – let us help you with your blogging.  If you write what you want going out in the news, we will get it on your WordPress blog, on your Facebook, Twitter, Google + and so on.  The more you do, the better it becomes.  And we can help you with that.  As a lawyer television advert says after all, it’s what we do.

Blogging themes updated 150 150 Editor

Blogging themes updated

This week we have worked a lot on social media themes, with Blogs being the key upgrade.
The standard theme used for Word Press is ok, but not all that jazzy or modern. So a great many of the blogs we look after have had a revamp. From the seriously jazzy, where the images enlarge on hover, and scrolling news feeds at the top….. to the slightly more subtle yet no less information e-commerce web site blogs that need a good diary of information, dates and company news.

Working hard with external companies to get certain issues ironed out, has been a challenge, but the results are really rather cool.

We have also been updating many blog web sites, with themes and customizing their styles – including our own! Take a look, let us know what you think. Don’t be shy.

Blogging is key to a great web site, and we help our clients get the best of their Word Press blogs.
